Summer Trends: You Must-Have!

Updated: Jun 22, 2019

Yay! It is the first day of summer! And that means grilling out, sun, beach trips, tan lines and late nights. Despite the fact that NC summers are SO humid - it is still one of my fave seasons! Summertime to me means vacationing and that consists of easy outfits to throw on and cute sandals.

Today, I am summing up a few summer trends I think you can NOT live without this summer:

1. Graphic Tees: A good cotton t-shirt is a staple for summer (or maybe anytime), But when it is so HOT out cotton is the best breathable fabric to wear. However, why not up it up a notch and wear a vintage inspired tee?! Ive been seeing a lot of mixing of textures by adding printed skirts with a cool graphic shirt. Bring back the 70’s! I love the look by adding a little touch of western inspo with studded mules.

2. Fruit themed printed dresses: lemons, pears and palm tree prints are adorbs for summer vacations. Oversized palm leaves are everything this summer!

3. Espadrilles: a flirty heeled wedge is a go-to for the summer season! So perf with Bermuda shorts, jean skirts and flow-y dresses. I personally was never a fan of this look, but this years espadrilles are really cute. 🖤

4. One-Piece Bikini: I am loving the new take on a one piece! Who’s with me?! I love the added belt and peek-a-boo key holes to them - edgy!

5. Straw bags: I feel everyone needs a good summer bag and a straw bag makes a statement. Buy one that is universal that can be used day to night and be brought to the beach to carry your essentials in.

6. Cutout dresses: a cute tie front dress is very 50’s. I like a white linen one that will bring you through the summer and into the fall with a jean jacket. (check out my post about How-to Style a White Linen Dress).

7. Jeans: cropped ripped jeans are always a good staple for anytime of the year. I recently decided to cut my own jeans to make a raw edge because it has been hard for me to find some that fit my petite height. I am impressed with how they came out! Linked some jeans below I have been coveting.
