{My Thoughts on Body Image}

Being extra petite I’ve had my share of struggles with my image... always wanting to be taller, wishing I had longer legs and always not being able to reach for things at the store. It is a daily struggle that I have had to deal with my whole life. People always commenting “Wow, you are really short!” or asking “How tall are you?” I am not here to say that I dislike being extra petite because I definitely can’t change it, but I have accepted that fact a long time ago and now joke back with people who ask. I am just here to share with you my thoughts on it. To spread more positivity about who we are and accept the fact that our bodies change with age (I am learning to accept this one now) because like you I have had my battles with my body image. Working in the fashion industry for most of my life I have seen a fair amount of women talk down about themselves. What parts of their arms they don’t like or legs they don’t like... etc etc. It is hurtful to hear so many of us think poorly. I know that not all accept it easily and many battle with it differently. So, what can one of us do to create a more positive mind? A more positive life? - Tell yourself everyday that you’re beautiful and no one is like YOU. Don’t compare. - Focus more on your accomplishments as a whole and not on specific parts of your body. - Not everything you see is true (social media). No one is perfect. - Wear clothes that make you happy and confident. - Use your energy wisely. Don’t waste it thinking negatively. - Understand somethings are out of our control. (Height) - Surround yourself with supportive people. I am no expert but if every day we do these things we can become more postitive about who we are. So let’s share more positivity and lift each other up, peeps! 🖤 What do you do each day to stay positive? - - -
