{ The Fashion Formula }

Angie in Noir

Hey guys!

I wanted to share my basic rule for styling the perfect outfit. I always keep it in 3's. What do I mean? To keep things looking visually pleasing odd numbers always seem to do the trick. I find this formula useful when coming up with a eye-pleasing visual display as well, and just about anything that could catch ones eye.

First, start off with a focal point (a print or texted piece) and go from there by adding a completer like a belt, shoes or any type of accessory, Lastly, you want to add a basic piece either jeans, pants, leggings or a skirt. Keep things simple with the amount of color you want to add to your outfit. Too much color can be distracting.

How I used the formula:

Focal point: Tunic with red being the primary color paired with a white necklace.

Completer: Shoes that match the red to bring the look downwards.

Basic: Black leggings to tone down the red and make it pop.

Think of this as a 70/20/10 split.

I hope you find this formula helpful! Let me know how you all style your clothes. Do you have go-to ways you style?
